Coinbase Profit Calculator

Calculate your real, fee-adjusted profit, loss, and ROI on any Coinbase (BTC) trade. Enter your BTC buy price, sell price, the amount you held, and your exchange fees on both sides — the calculator returns net profit in USD, ROI percentage, and total fee drag. The current BTC spot price is pre-filled from live Binance data so a sell-at-market scenario is one click away.

Unlike most online Coinbase calculators, every number on this page subtracts trading fees from both the buy and the sell side. That matters because even at 0.1% per side — the standard taker rate on Binance, Bitget and Coinbase Pro — your real take-home on a closed trade is 0.2% lower than a fee-blind tool would show. On meaningful position size, that gap is the difference between a winning strategy and break-even.

How it's calculated

Coinbase profit = (BTC sell price − BTC buy price) × amount of BTC, minus entry and exit fees. ROI is profit divided by total cost (including the buy fee), expressed as a percentage — comparable across trades of different sizes on equal footing.

Fee drag is the part most online calculators skip. A 0.1% fee per side eats 0.2% of any closed round-trip — small on a one-shot trade, meaningful across a year of active trading. The calculator surfaces total fees paid as a dollar number so you can decide whether a tier upgrade or a venue switch is worth chasing.

Worked example

Buy 1 BTC at $40,000 with a 0.1% fee, sell at $60,000 with a 0.1% fee. Cost basis is $40,040 ($40,000 + $40.00 buy fee). Proceeds are $59,940 ($60,000 − $60.00 sell fee). Net profit is $19,900 and ROI is about 49.70%.

Scale that 10× — 10 BTC at the same prices — and you book $199,000 of profit on the same ROI, but the round-trip fee total is $1,000 in absolute terms. Coinbase traders running real size should size their exchange tier and venue choice against that number, not the headline percentage.

BTC Calculator: live prices and fee-adjusted math

The BTC price field pre-fills from the live Binance BTC/USDT ticker (cached for 60 seconds, no sign-up, no API key needed). Click Use live next to the sell price to drop in the current market rate — useful for modelling a hypothetical sell-at-market exit without leaving the page.

The buy and sell fee fields default to 0.1% per side, which matches the standard taker rate on Binance, Bitget, and Coinbase Pro for non-VIP accounts. Override them if you trade on a venue with a different fee structure (e.g., 0.05% on Binance with BNB discount, 0.6% on Coinbase retail).

Coinbase Investment Calculator and ROI

ROI = profit ÷ total cost (including the buy fee) × 100. For a Coinbase investment that's the same formula as any other coin — what changes is the typical price range and the volatility around your buy. Use this coinbase investment calculator to model a take-profit target, then sanity-check against the actual percentage move required from your entry.

For multi-buy averaging-down scenarios, your effective buy price is total dollars spent ÷ total coins held. Plug that blended number into the buy price field. For full DCA-style backtesting against historical BTC prices, use the dedicated DCA calculator.

Coinbase Calculator Profit vs the multi-coin tool

This page handles BTC only — defaults, examples, and prose are written with Coinbase traders in mind. If you trade other assets as well, the multi-coin crypto profit calculator covers BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, ADA and 25+ other coins through the same picker, with identical fee-adjusted math.

Both calculators run the same math: profit = (sell − buy) × amount − fees. The split exists because Google sees them as separate search intent — someone searching "coinbase profit calculator" wants BTC-specific defaults and prose; someone searching "crypto profit calculator" wants the flexible multi-coin tool.

FAQ

How do I calculate my Coinbase profit?

Coinbase profit = (BTC sell price − BTC buy price) × amount of BTC, minus your trading fees on both sides. Enter all five numbers above and the calculator does the math instantly, returning net profit and ROI in one pass.

Does this Coinbase calculator include trading fees?

Yes. The buy fee and sell fee fields default to 0.1% per side — Binance's standard taker rate — and you can override them to match your exchange's tier. The calculator subtracts both fees from the result so the profit number matches what would actually land in your account.

How much is X BTC worth right now?

Multiply your amount by the current BTC price. The calculator pulls the live BTC/USDT price from Binance and updates every 60 seconds — fresh enough for any reasonable trading or planning decision.

What's a realistic ROI on Coinbase?

There's no fixed target. ROI just measures your gain as a percentage of what you put in. Run the calculator with your real buy and sell prices to see your exact ROI, then compare it against your alternatives: HODL, other coins, or your personal benchmark.

Do I owe tax on my Coinbase profit?

In most jurisdictions, selling BTC for a gain triggers a capital-gains event. This calculator estimates profit only; for a FIFO capital-gains report use the dedicated crypto tax calculator, and confirm jurisdiction-specific treatment with a qualified tax professional.

Can Meetcrypt track my real Coinbase profit automatically?
